Derek and the Junior High teens got back from camp on Friday night. I went down with one of the parents to suprise Derek. It was kind of a lonely week without Derek. I had some friends come over Tuesday night. We hadn't been able to catch up for a while, so it was a good time. Derek surprised me coming home at 1:15 in the morning. He couldn't leave camp until all the kids were in where they should have been. Then Wednesday night I went down to spend with him and the kids. I got to see all our friends that are at camp having a blast while I'm here, working...
Thursday in NE Indiana was quite the afternoon. Conditions were tornado perfect. The wind and rain was absolutely horrific. According to one of the guys at Lowe's which is right across the street from my office, a funnel cloud came down right by their building. I didn't see it however. We lost power around 2:15, so Sherrie sent me home at 3:00. That was great!I got home and our house was still intact, except for our grill. It had taken a ride on the wind and landed in the empty lot beside us, crushed and anihilated. Derek was happy because now he gets to get a new grill. Like I said Derek came home Friday night.
Saturday we just hung around the house. Sunday we obviously went to church. Sunday night was youth. We were at Ken and Karla's house, our senior high youth sponsors. Their youngest son is in senior high. We had a fire and did hot dogs, marshmallows and fortunately, no fireworks. Those high school boys like to play with fire and explosives. Yes, together. Two of the youth guys had the courage to get their hair cut into mohawks with parental permission. HA! HA! A picture of that will be coming next week.
Monday is back to work for me and back to camp for Derek and the Senior High teens. I've been really busy lately at work. I love it that way. It keeps me busy, learning new things and time flies. Tomorrow night, I'm babysitting two of my cousins while their mom and dad go out with my uncle's friends from high school. Should be a lot of fun! Hopefully next week when Derek is back in the office we'll have time to put up some more pictures of the ongoings in our lives.
Have a great week!
