The End to an Era

Well, this week ends an era for my office. The DFR side is moving out as of this Friday. Some will have to drive to Fort Wayne starting Monday; while others will still be working in Bluffton just at a different location. Some of these ladies have worked together for over 15+ years. You can imagine how hard it's going to be for them to not see each other day after day. The era for me really hasn't been that long - not even a year actually. But it's a little hard for me too so say good-bye to these ladies. Sure, we still have e-mail but as you know it's just not the same. The picture below is one of the "Four Musketeers". The other three ladies and I have been the on the front lines together- we ran the front office. Left to Right: Me, Ann, Rita and Lisa. Rita and I are the DCS clerks. We are staying in the building where we are now; it will just be completely remodeled. Anyway, just thought I would share my thoughts with you about the saga of moving on at work.

On a more fun note, last night I was sitting in the lazy boy and the coolest thing happened. About a week ago, I was able to start feeling Madelyn move. Last night, not only did I feel her move... she kicked my hand. I had my hand on my belly above my belly button and I watched as my hand "jumped". Derek was across the room on the couch (I commandeered his lazy boy for the night) so he was too far away to see. I can't wait for him to be able to feel her move for the first time. As you could see a couple posts ago, I am starting to "blimp out" as Derek lovingly calls it.

We're getting ready for a big weekend. Tomorrow is our next doctor's appt. and then Thursday night - Saturday afternoon we have FREQUENCY at IWU. This is always a weekend we look forward too. Then Sunday we have our big carry-in dinner with our Local Church Conference after. Then Sunday night, we have S.N.A.C. I know, too much in one weekend. We'll survive. We always do.

On a sad note, there was a 6 yr. old boy that was killed in our county last night during a normal ATV ride with 7 yr. old cousin. Please pray for this family as they grieve and go through this loss. I can't imagine what the family, let alone this cousin is going through right now. The boy was in Kindergarten; so it will be especially hard for his classmates to understand what happened. Just pray for God's will and presence to be known to those involved in the coming weeks. Thanks.

Have a great weekend all! God Bless!
