Balloon or Brick?

So how is your faith related today in the world where so many things are happening and going on around us? It is so tempting to take a look and realize that God is looking for students to step up and be real! I think that in todays world it is so crutial that we as a community begin to teach and invest into our students that being a person that stands up and lives out there relationship with Christ is the point. But it starts with us as leaders. As once said you can only take your group as far as you have gone yourself. So today as I sit in my office reading some articles about how is your faith represents and I thought that I would share this good insight. So I ask what does your faith represent? Balloon or Brick?

The balloon is the person who knows all the answers to the Sunday school questions, goes to church on a regular basis, Knows God and could lead you to Christ. This is that person who is full of hot air! Do you know people like this?

The Brick represents the person a person who has a relationship with Jesus christ but it is different because it is a solid relationship. Yes this person knows all the answers to the Sunday School questions too but this persons life backs it up! This person is someone that you can count on!

So you take these two people represented and let the temptation of Satan be thrown into the mix. If you apply a certain amount of pressure to a balloon what happens? It pops, In the same way when we are not rooted in our faith and solid like a brick that can last a lot of pressure we too will pop when that happens. So today I leave you with the scripture that I think fits best with this illustration

Mathew Chapter 7 verse 24-27

Make sure you put your faith into Practice!
