Indiana visit July '14

After our Myrtle Beach vacation, we headed to Indiana to visit our other families! Our first stop from Uncle Chuck's house in West Virginia was Columbus (where we lived for a year). It was a short pit stop for us but we were able to squeeze in time for some of our wonderful Columbus church family! We were able to see a few friends at IN North Family Camp. Went out to supper and IVANHOE'S with both sets of parents for my parent's anniversary and Derek's mom's birthday. We met baby Chase (Derek's brother's son) for the first time. We spent time with both sets of our immediate family - I love loving on those nephews! We spent our anniversary at my dad's parents house. They are moving permanently to assisted living so as a family we've been going through things. It's bittersweet. I love that old house and looking through all the things that my grandparents have kept and been given over the years. My grandma let us have a "jewelry party" and go through her fabulous stash. Madelyn had the most fun! We hung out with my mom's side of the family. My girls love spending time with their older cousins! They even got "horsey rides" from Uncle Dan. :) It was not very fun to say good-bye, but we are very thankful for the time we were able to spend with them. Out of the girls, Madelyn had the hardest time leaving the family this time. She's getting to understand how "far away" (And I'm very thankful it's just a "short" van drive compared to an airplane ride!)we live and she's understanding the time spent in between these reunions. It was hard watching her be sad, but we know that we are where we are for a reason. God is blessing us so much at church! (that's a whole other post!) But we do so love spending time with family!
